Welcome to Muskoka Airport
The District Municipality of Muskoka is proud to own and operate the Muskoka Airport (CYQA). From its rich past as part of the Trans-Canada Airway; its use during WWII by the Royal Norwegian Air Force; its expansion to serve as an emergency air field for the early fighter jets of the Canadian Air Force; to today’s role as a vital transportation hub. The airport continues to provide a wealth of value to the Muskoka community.
Located in Gravenhurst, Ontario, Canada, we are a Canada Customs Airport of Entry and a Transport Canada Certified facility operating 365 days per year. The Airport’s paved runway is 1.83 kilometres (6,000 feet) long and rated for aircraft as large as the Boeing 737. The public apron provides over 2.1 hectares (5.2 acres) of aircraft parking area and hosts a new public terminal building with a pilot’s lounge that is available 24 hours per day.
New in 2012 was the creation of the Muskoka Airport Advisory Committee which was established to provide a forum for receiving input and advice from aviation stakeholders and the community respecting the Muskoka Airport.
